IVENA eHealth

IVENA eHealth, the web-based interdisciplinary proof of care, is an application that enables preclinical and clinical patient care providers to obtain real-time information on current treatment and care options at hospitals.

The application enables supra-regional cooperation and offers a comprehensive and detailed overview of resources. It allows a fast exchange between hospitals, the central control centres for the rescue service, the health authorities and other medical services, such as the medical emergency service, the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians or general practitioners. IVENA also carries the bed proof, which is often required by law.

For efficient and patient-oriented care, the treatment options relevant for diagnosis and treatment urgency are displayed in real time. In order to use existing resources as effectively as possible, the patient flows of the rescue service in the last few hours are also taken into account. This valuable information advantage makes it possible to lead injured or sick patients quickly to a suitable hospital ready to receive them. Information on assignments such as arrival time, diagnosis and urgency of treatment is transmitted to the hospitals in a standardized form at the time of assignment by the rescue service.

IVENA eHealth is based on a future-oriented concept for service-based processes that can be flexibly extended or adapted as required. For example, the alarm in the hospital can be triggered via ESPA-X.

The application was developed by the Health Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main in cooperation with mainis IT-Service GmbH and has been in live operation since the beginning of 2010.
